Be Back Soon

Hey, guys, Vampi here.

I recently got grounded from my phone, so I’m using the spare time I have in my World Geography class in high school to write this on my iPad.

I won’t be updating this blog until I get ungrounded, but if you do want to see me post during the weekdays (until I get ungrounded) check out my randomness blog, Random Vampiness, at https://randomvampiness.wordpress.com/ and follow me there.

That’s all I have for today, I’m going to go remix Marble Soda by Shawn Wasabi on GarageBand. Keep poppin’ it!

Top 10: Favorite Poptropica Fan Blogs

Hey, guys, Vampi here.

Man, some of these blogs have me mind-blown on how consistent they are. So I figured that I would make a Top 10 of my favorite blogs. So here goes my Top 10 Favorite Poptropica Blogs.

Important note: This is all based on my opinions. Don’t get mad cuz your blog isn’t on the list or any of the blogs should be higher.

#10: A Quota of Poptropica (https://aquotaofpop.wordpress.com/)

A Quota of Poptropica is really what it says it is… a quota of Poptropica. Headed by Happy Lobster, it’s just your average news station, really.

#9: Pewter Moon (https://pewtermoons.wordpress.com/)

So it’s not directly related to Poptropica. This blog, made by my buddy Shaky Skunk, is the developer blog for a Poptropica fan game I’m part of called Pewter Moon (but I’m not releasing details about it other than the name).

#8: Cuddly Knuckle’s Poptropica Blog (https://cuddlyknucklespoptropicablog.wordpress.com/)

Cuddly Knuckle’s Poptropica Blog was the first blog that I applied for an authorship for. Even though it’s pretty much dead, the CKPB is still pretty cool.

#7: Lucky Wing’s Blog ‘o Fun (https://luckywingsblogofun.wordpress.com/)

Lucky Wing can be summed up in one word: crazy. So naturally she makes a blog. Because hey, we’re all crazy in one way or another. LW also runs a randomness blog called Luckily Bizzare (which is kinda like the Tumblr I made today).

#6: The Poptropican’s Corner (https://smartpoptropica.wordpress.com/)

Made by Smart Flame, with additional authors Friendly Foot, Red Rider, Short Feather, and more, The Poptropican’s Corner is yet another Poptropica blog. Most posts are made by Smart Flame (because I don’t think he’s found out how to add authors; either that or they’re all inactive), but otherwise, it’s just a normal blog.

#5: Poptropica Tips for Poptropicans (https://poptropicatips.com/)

Headed by Silver Flame, PTFP is the place to get some good tips on the world of Poptropica and more! Plus I’m an author there too 😛

#4: The Poptropica Bloggers Network (https://poptropicabloggersnetwork.wordpress.com/)

The PBN is less of a fan blog and more of a blog about fan blogs. If there’s any blogs I may not have mentioned, they’re probably in there. The TBPH is part of it too!

#3: People of Poptropica (https://peopleofpoptropicablog.wordpress.com/)

Run by my good buddy White Ice (who made the logo for the blog, thanks for that, fam), People of Poptropica is another good blog for getting the most recent news. I should know, I’m also an author there. (Now that I think about it, I author a lot of blogs.)

#2: TIE: Clawtropica (https://clawtropica.wordpress.com/) VS Poptropica Skunk Blog (https://poptropicaskunkblog.wordpress.com/)

Man, I can’t decide which of these should get #2. The Poptopica Skunk Blog, run by Shaky Skunk, is mostly news as usual, same with Clawtropica, run by Purple Claw. Funny thing is, they’re authors on each other’s blogs, so it makes it hard to choose.

#1: The Poptropica Help Blog (https://poptropicahelp.net/)

What’s a Top Ten list of Pop Blogs without the PHB? The Poptropica Help Blog is run by Slanted Fish, with authors Ultimate iPad Expert, Spotted Dragon, Slippery Raptor, Brave Tomato, Lucky Joker, Perfect Sky, and A Quota of Pop author Happy Lobster. Without the PHB, none of these fan blogs would’ve been born. I seriously got my blogging start from commenting on the PHB.

Anyway, that’s all I have for now. I need to get back to my classes anyway. Keep poppin’ it!

It has come. You should know what it is.

Hey, guys, Vampi here.

Seems like the staff at Poptropica have turned into Nintendo in a slight way. Just like the NX was the code name for the Nintendo Switch, New Pop is the code name for… POPTROPICA WORLDS?!?

Yes, it is what you think it is. Here’s what Skinny Moon has said about Pop Worlds on the Creators’ Blog.

Get ready for…
– New, exciting Worlds to explore
– Favorites from the original Poptropica, remastered for Poptropica Worlds
– One account for everything Poptropica!
– Your very own customizable home (remember this poll?)
– More costumes than ever
– Daily prizes and awesome games
– And more to come…

And if that confuses you on what happened, here’s some questions asked and answered during Skinny Moon’s Discord pop-in yesterday, with who asked as part of the question:

Tall Cactus: Are worlds islands?

SM: Yes, worlds = islands.

Makes sense to me.

Shaky Skunk: Will we be able to transfer our old stuff (including looks)?

SM: Yes, the plan is for your avatar and all your old stuff to port over!

I had asked this on Twitter, and I’m thankful for this.

idk (resident tech geek and glitcher): Games in Unity can also be ported to video game consoles. Any plans for that? (For those who don’t know, the game is using game engine Unity to play.)

SM: Great question. I don’t know of any plans for consoles, but hey. Who knows?

I mean, Roblox has an Xbox One port, plus there’s also Poptropica games for the DS and 3DS, so it is possible.

Short Feather: Will it only be available on certain devices, or will it be accessible to all?

SM: Poptropica Worlds will be available on web and mobile devices.

That’s a relief.

Magic Panda: How different will the art style be? Will there be more shading, bigger/smaller characters, etc.?

SM: From what I know so far, the art style will still be very “Poptropica” – but remastered, updated, better than ever!

Ooh, different art style. Interesting.

Anyway, that’s it for now. I’ve got stuff I’m doing. I’ll have more news soon, along with my personal opinions and reactions on the news. Keep poppin’ it!

Trusty Theory: Response to Tall Cactus

Hey, guys, Vampi here.

This past Sunday, Tall Cactus posted another blog post on her blog with the title “What If?”, which consisted of a list of random questions without answers. (Link to post here.) These are my answers to said questions.

“What if the sponsored islands are different realms?”

Possible, but not likely, from my point of view. Unless you’re talking about Realms with a capital R, in which case it would be a bit more likely.

“What if only the people on Home Island (and Mocktropica) know that they are in a game and everyone else is brainwashed?”

So in other words, only the Home Island and Mocktropicans can break the fourth wall. And I thought only me, Deadpool, and Pinkie Pie could do that. In other words, it may be true.

“What if your Poptropican ran away from their parents to explore the world and is constantly hopping from island to island to not get caught?”

Fanfiction material at its finest.

“What if restarting islands erases everyone’s memories?”

See, that is actually true. If not, each of the NPCs would say something along the lines of “Hey, I’ve seen you before.”

“What if Poptropica is just a dream?”

Then what would the real world be like?

“What if the Booted Bandit is your Poptropican, but from an alternate future?”

Then somehow EFPR would have to be connected to Time Tangled somehow. It would take a whole lot of linking, but it can happen.

“What if some of the islands don’t actually take place on islands, but on the mainland?”

Backed up by Back Lot, EFPR, and many more that I can’t think of.

“What if some islands take place on the same landmass? Maybe even one, bigger island?”

Early Poptropica and Counterfeit are PERFECT examples. Seeing as one part of the Counterfeit quest has you going to Early Poptropica’s Pop Art, then they have to take place on the same landmass (but instead of using a car, you use a blimp instead because you find flying faster).

“What if all the islands in Pop were already discovered and colonized, but you just didn’t find them yet?”

More fanfiction material, from my point of view.

“What if all Poptropicans have realistic names, and players just have names like Tall Cactus to keep them safe online?”

First off, nice self-plugin. Second, that’s contradictory because of the words “keep them safe online.” If Poptropicans are adventuring in the real world, then how would they also be doing so online?

“What if Poptropica has a tropical name even though many islands aren’t even in the tropics is because the first islands discovered were, and they just kept the name? (for example, the ancient capital of Poptropolis was tropical)”

Hmmm… That’ll take some history lessons. Ones that I’m willing to sit through. XD

“What if Dr. Hare isn’t actually a doctor/doesn’t have a real doctorate degree?”

If the case, then we’d have a real problem on our hands.

“What if the Booted Bandit started the trend of Poptropicans wearing shoes in the upcoming New Pop?”

Ahem, Creators, your call. I can’t decide between possible or not.

“What if the New Pop answers all of these random questions, or more?”

Then we wouldn’t need this post, hehe.

And that’s all the questions posed. I have nothing else to add, but more questions can be answered next time on Trusty Bear’s Poptropica Hotspot! Keep poppin’ it!

January IOTMs: The Time Traveling Genie

Hey, guys, Vampi here.

Skinny Moon released a post last week about this month’s Islands Of The Month, or IOTMs for short. This month is Time Tangled Island and Arabian Nights Island. Due to this, normally you’d get 500 for a first-time finish and 300 for a repeat finish, but since Arabian Nights is an episodic island, you’ll get 1500 for first-time finishes and 900 for repeats.

Also, Captain Crawfish, being the captain he is, decided to make the walkthroughs for Time Tangled and each episode of Arabian Nights.

For Time Tangled, click here, and for the Arabian Nights episodes, click here for Episode 1, here for Episode 2, and here for Episode 3.

That’s it on my side. If you need me, I’ll be watching charity speedrunning marathon Games Done Quick. Keep poppin’ it!
