New Project Pt 2: Poll Results

So earlier I made a post asking how I should record the PoptroPodcast (or as someone on the PHC (ahemfriendlyfootahem) said, Podtropica) and the polls said:

Record a Discord Chatroom: 2 votes, 100%

Record a Skype Conversation: 0 votes, 0%

And now, as I sit in an Anime Club meeting at my school, watching an anime about an herbalist living with these random people that she met, and where every stranger she meets won’t shut up about her red hair (the anime of which I have no idea what it’s called), I am working on making preparations for the PoptroPodcast logo. (Bad news is it’s with MS Paint, so here comes my bad digital art skills.)

Just a quick update, all I really have right now.

New Project

Those of you who have an iPhone, one of the things you may have noticed is the app “Podcasts.” This app is made for what you could call “radio shows” (examples being National Public Radio’s “Car Talk” with Click and Clack the Tapper Brothers and “Wait Wait… Don’t Tell Me”), or in other words, an hour long show made for only listening that you can listen to while you eat lunch or something like that. But from what Vampi knows, there’s no such thing as a Poptropica podcast.

Hey guys, Vampi here.

Today I’m releasing a fresh new idea I literally came up with 5 minutes ago: The PoptroPodcast. A radio show dedicated to members of the community, their projects, and Poptropica itself. But the thing is, I have nobody to join me and do it. (At least I have a way to do it, my Minecraft recording buddy Super Bucko has a way to get Skype conversations in a video.) So, I need volunteers. Anybody who’s comfortable with vocally speaking to another Pop community member, like moi, is able to join. (But I only want a max of 4, otherwise, chaos ensues.) Just add me on Skype (it’s free, you just need an email) with my long-as-proper-noun-Hell username theathenaspawnergaming and put in the message where you add a Contact (or in a convo) that you want to join the podcast, and I’ll accept it next time I’m on. Or do you want me to make a chatroom? I can’t think, here’s a poll to help me think.

Next on my agenda of stuff to talk about: Poptropica artist and community member Popular Wolf is working on a Poptropica anime (which she has recently updated about here) and I get to voice act! (But beware, my voice is deep, lol.)

Anyway, that’s all I’ve got now. Keep poppin’ it!

Community Interviews, and Pop’s 9th Birthday

Hey guys, Vampi here!
So if you’re like me, you like to include your friends into stuff sometimes. (My filénada, Greek for girlfriend, still won’t get on pop. *sigh*)

But I like to consider the whole Poptropica community as my friends, so why not show you who they are?
I’m starting a Community Interview series, where yours truly interviews people in the Poptropica community. All you have to do is come to the TBPH Discord (assuming you have a Discord account) and mention me, asking for a community interview! (Or PM me, username DJ Vampi#0148.)

In other news, it happens to be Poptropica’s 9th birthday today, and for the occasion, they gave us a 9th Birthday Ballon and a 9th Birthday Hat, which is a cake hat with a cat in it, because the thing that showed Pop’s birthday said “9 lives and counting.” (And if you’ll let me get off topic, the 9 lives thing refers to the phrase ‘Cats have 9 lives’ because they always tend to land on their feet. They really have only 1, but whatever you wanna believe, society.)

Anyway, that’s all I got. Keep poppin’ it!

YouTube Intro

Hey, guys, Vampi here.

So, eh, yeah. I have a YT channel, called DJVampiGamer, and I’m glad to say that I got a new intro for it! 😀

Let me tell you how I got it, rewind a couple of months. I saw my buddy MG Extreme’s buddy Moedesu made both MG and himself an intro. Needing an intro of my own, I said, and I quote: “nice intro fam. i’ll give mg ten bucks to deliver to you if you make one for me”

So he went through everything and sent me a MediaFire download link, and I emailed it to myself a few minutes ago. I’m trying to upload it to my YT currently, but my school’s blocking it. (ooh, unrelated to the topic, my song just came on in Pandora)

But here’s the link to his intro. Pretty much the same as mine, with the exception of the channel name.

Anyway, I’ll see you all in a while. Keep poppin’ it!

Vampi’s Top 5 Islands

Hey, guys, Vampi/Trusty here.

So I’m bored as usual in the morning, so I decide to check the PHC. What’s a morning without a daily dose of Poptropica? And I see that my buddy White Ice (aka Wanderesa on Discord) kept attempting to post a link to her post on the People of Poptropica blog. (In fact, she’s working on my header as I write this, so she deserves the shoutout.)

Anyway, I asked her to private message me the link to the post, since somebody kept deleting it. I saw it was a Top 5 post on her top 5 item cards from the store. So I thought, “Oh, dang, that reminds me, I have yet to post a Poptropica-related post on my own Poptropica blog.” So I decided, what better way to start it off than with a personal top 5?

So here it is, my personal Top 5 Islands in Poptropica, with a few honorable mentions.

Number 5: Zomberry

I don’t know why, I just like the thrill of zombie survival games. The Earn to Die series, Rebuild 2 (I think that was the title), and then Zomberry. Also, Gamer Guy is life.

Number 4: Big Nate Island

Back before Trusty Bear, there was Angry Thunder. (bbgunlight100 if you want to friend it) And as the 6-yr-old me I was and the Angry Thunder I was, Big Nate was my favorite island, and also the first one I completed with Angry Thunder that I know of. Good island, in my opinion.

Number 3: Skullduggery

My main reason for this: pirate-related songs. The whole time I did this, I got on YouTube and pulled up the Pirates of the Carribean theme, but with a Dubstep twist. I like dubstep, it’s pretty easy to tell. Also I came up with some slightly helpful tips if you scroll down and look for my name on the PHB.

Number 2: Early Poptropica

No way to land a Number 2 without going back to the basics, in my opinion. One of the easiest islands, and the first ever made. Funny thing was I didn’t even make any progress on it when I created Angry Thunder. I went straight to Shark Tooth, from what I remember.

Number 1: Wild West

And I’m fixing to replay it, too. When I was still trying to get through all the unlocked islands, I liked to find songs that matched the island. For Wild West, I found the perfect one to be Wario’s Gold Mine, from Mario Kart Wii. But recently I found a new one. (It literally has something related to wild west stories in the name!) Tank! from Cowboy Bebop. (Just don’t watch the anime… I heard it’s pretty 18+.) Also, I happen to hail from where most Wild West stories take place- good ol’ Texas. But trust me, it’s not like what you think.

Anyway, that was it for my Top 5 Personal Favorite Islands. Tell me your personal top 5 in the comments! Keep poppin’ it!
